Panama City Beach, Florida is also the proud home to the Florida Ironman Competition each November. The Ironman event consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. The swim happens in the Gulf of Mexico and can be viewed from the beach. The rest of the events loop around town, and on race day the town is buzzing with excitement.
If you’re coming into town for the race, whether to participate or watch, Pier Haven vacation home could not be a more perfect home base. Walk to the course start, walk home (or be carried!) afterwards. Relax in the pool after a very long day. We are literally the ideal lodging place for Florida Ironman.
